华南师范大学马克思主义学院，起始于1957年建立的华南师范大学马列主义教研室，改革开放后发展成为思想教育管理学系（思教系），2000年整合德育教研室成立思想政治理论课教学部，2012年正式挂牌成立马克思主义学院。学院主要负责全校本科生、研究生思想政治理论课的教学、马克思主义理论学科建设，承担马克思主义理论博士生、硕士生、本科生和思想政治教育（师范）本科生的人才培养任务。

学院2015年成为广东省委宣传部和华南师范大学共建学院,2019年入选全国重点马克思主义学院。拥有马克思主义理论一级学科博士、硕士学位授予权，马克思主义理论博士后流动站。拥有教育部习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心基地、全国高校思想政治理论课教师研修基地、高校思想政治工作队伍培训研修中心，广东省重点智库广东党的建设研究院、广东省中国特色社会主义理论体系研究中心研究基地、马克思主义研究院。马克思主义理论学科为广东省优势重点学科，2017年教育部学科评估进入A层次,2018年入选广东省高等教育“冲一流、补短板、强特色”提升计划重点建设学科, 2019年、2020年上海软科最好学科排名进入前5%。

学院现有教职工66人，其中专任教师59人，包括教授24人，副教授18人，讲师18人，博士学位获得者50人。学院拥有国家高层次人才特殊支持计划（“万人计划”）哲学社会科学领军人才2人，教育部“长江学者奖励计划”特聘教授1人，中央马克思主义理论研究和建设工程首席专家2人、骨干成员8人，国家社会科学基金学科规划评审组专家1人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家2人，全国教育系统先进工作者1人，中宣部“四个一批”人才2人，中宣部宣传思想文化青年英才1人，教育部“新世纪优秀人才”支持计划1人，教育部高等学校马克思主义理论类专业教学指导委员会委员、全国高校思想政治理论课教学指导委员会委员1人，教育部“全国高校优秀中青年思想政治理论课教师择优资助计划”2人，广东省优秀社会科学家1人，南粤优秀教师1人，广东省理论宣传青年优秀人才2人，广东省思想政治理论课名教师培养对象1人，骨干教师培养对象2人。

2012年以来，学院教师主持国家社科基金重大项目6项，主持国家社科基金重点项目、一般项目、青年项目、后期资助项目23项，主持国家社科基金 马克思主义理论研究和建设工程特别委托项目3项，主持教育部人文社科项目、广东省哲学社会科学规划项目55项。在《中国社会科学》《哲学研究》《马克思主义研究》《教育研究》《中共党史研究》《求是》等高层次刊物发表论文400多篇，多篇被《新华文摘》《中国社会科学文摘》大篇幅转载，出版学术专著20多部。获中国高校人文社会科学研究优秀成果一等奖1项、二等奖2项，广东省哲学社会科学优秀成果一等奖6项、二等奖5项、三等奖2项，广东省优秀教学成果二等奖2项。

学院开设的《思想道德修养与法律基础》2009年获批为国家精品课程，2013年获批为国家精品资源共享课程。《马克思主义基本原理概论》《毛泽东思想和中国特色社会主义理论体系概论》为广东省思想政治理论课优质课程。《思想政治理论社会实践》为广东省社会实践一流本科课程。

学院设有马克思主义理论系（思想政治教育系），以及马克思主义基本原理、毛泽东思想和中国特色社会主义理论体系概论、习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想概论、中国近现代史纲要、思想道德修养与法律基础、形势与政策、思想政治理论课社会实践、研究生思想政治理论课等八个教研室，设党政办公室、学生工作办公室和资料室三个办公室。

The School of Marxism at South China Normal University，was started from the Marxism Leninism Teaching and Research Office of South China Normal University in 1957. After the Reform and Opening-up, the school has developed into the Department of Ideological Education and Management. Then, it became the Teaching Department of Ideological and Political Theory by integrating the teaching and research section of moral education in 2000. In 2012, the School of Marxism was officially established. The school is mainly responsible for the teaching of ideological and political theory courses for undergraduates and postgraduates, and in charge of the discipline construction of Marxist theory, as well as undertake the talent training task of doctoral, master, undergraduate in Marxist theory discipline and undergraduate in ideological and political education (normal) discipline.

In 2015, the school became a Cooperation School built by the Propaganda Department of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and South China Normal University. It was selected as the "National Key Marxist College Construction" in 2019. The school has the right to confer doctorate and master's degree in the first level discipline of Marxist theory, it also has the Post-Doctoral Mobile Station of Marxist theory. The school has the Xi Jinping's the New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics of the Ministry of Education Research Center Base, the National Ideological and Political Theory Course Teacher Training Base , the Ideological and Political work Training Center, it also has the Guangdong Provincial key think tank Guangdong Party Construction Research Institution, the Guangdong Provincial Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Research Center , and the Marxist Research Institution.The Marxist theoretical discipline of the school is key disciplines in Guangdong Province, and entered “A” level of Ministry of education in 2017. In 2018, the discipline was selected as the key construction discipline of Guangdong Province's higher education promotion plan of "striving for first class, making up for weaknesses and strengthening characteristics", it also ranked in the top 5% of the best disciplines of soft science of Shanghai, in 2019 and 2010.

The college has 66 staff members, including 59 full-time teachers. There are 24 professors, 18 associate professors, 18 lecturers in the school, and fifty of them have Ph.D. The school has two leading talents in philosophy and Social Sciences under the national special support program for high-level talents (ten thousand talents program).

One person was selected as the distinguished professor of the “Changjiang Scholar” of the Ministry of education. Two persons was hired as Chief expert of Central Committee on Marxist theory research and construction project, eight persons hired as key members. One person was selected as the expert of the discipline planning review group of NSFC. Two experts enjoying special government allowance of the State Council. One person won the title of “Advanced Worker in the National Education System”. Two persons are "four one batch" talents from the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. One person was selected as young talent of Propaganda Department of CPC Central Committee. One member was won the Ministry of education's "new century talents" support program. There is one member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Marxist theory major in Colleges and universities of the Ministry of education, and one member of the national ideological and Political Theory Teaching Steering Committee of colleges and universities. Two persons has won the “national excellent young and middle-aged ideological and political theory teachers preferential subsidy program”by the Ministry of Education. One person is Guangdong Province excellent social scientist. One person as Guangdong Province excellent teacher. Two persons are Guangdong Province theory propaganda young outstanding talents. One person are Guangdong Province ideological and political theory course teacher training object, and two are backbone teacher training object.

Since 2012, the faculty has presided over 6 major projects of NSFC, and other 23 key projects, general projects, youth projects and later stage funded projects of the National Social Science Fund. There are 3 projects specially entrusted by the National Social Science Fund for Marxist theoretical research and construction projects. The school has undertaken 55 scientific research projects，including humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of education and philosophy and social science planning projects of Guangdong Province. The school publishes more than 400 papers in the high level journals which including “Chinese Social Sciences”, “Philosophical Research”,“ Studies on Marxism”, “Educational Research”, “CPC History Studies

 ”and “Seeking Truth”. Many articles were reprinted by “Xinhua Digest” and “Chinese Social Science Digest”. More than 20 academic monographs have been published. The school has won 1 first prize and 2 second prizes for outstanding achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Chinese universities, and 6 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 2 third prizes for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences of Guangdong Province, and 2 second prizes for outstanding teaching achievements of Guangdong Province. “Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis" was approved as “National Excellent Course” in 2009 and as “National Excellent Resource Sharing Course” in 2013. “Basic Principles of Marxism” and “Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” are excellent courses of Ideological and Political Theory Course in Guangdong Province. “Social Practice of Ideological and Political Theory" is a first-class undergraduate course of social practice in Guangdong Province.

The school has a department of Marx theory (Ideological and Political Education Department), as well as eight teaching and research sections which includes Marxist Basic Principles, Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Outline of Modern Chinese History, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis, Situation and Policy, Social Practice of Ideological and Political Theory Course, Ideological and political theory course for Postgraduates. The school has three offices: Party and government office, student affairs office and reference room.

Go through the storm and work hard. Under the guidance of the motto of "loyalty to faith, morality and talent cultivation", the staff of Marxism school will contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of first-class discipline ang high-level university, to the construction of New Normal University and Marxism discipline , also to the talent training of South China Normal University.
